About Me
Professional Background
I haven’t always worked with data. I got my start in policy, advocating for legislation that improves health care on a large-scale. I became curious about how to implement change in everyday patient care. I jumped into leading quality improvement initiatives in physician offices. A big part of the role was using data to inform decisions, but I ran into a persistent obstacle: high-quality data outputs were hard to come by. If I was lucky enough to get a data output, it often contained errors, was not aligned with my request, or had stale visualizations. I decided to learn SQL and Tableau so that I could do it myself.
Since then, there hasn’t been a dull moment. There are always new challenges to tackle — a bug to fix, a fresh data source to explore, ad hoc requests from clients trying to figure how new workflows impact outcomes, and more.
